Trees for Climate: Nottinghamshire County Council

Nottinghamshire County Council plan to plant 250,000 trees across the county by 2027. The national Trees for Climate programme is part of this  funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

The project spanned across two sites and involved: Ground preparation works including ripping and flailing, Screefing & Notch Planting of over 28000 Transplants within upland and lowland reinstated colliery spoil, liaison with local authority officers regarding species mix and access routes, fitting of tubed plant protection to some transplants, construction of over of 4445m deer / rabbit and stock proof combined fencing, incorporating vehicle and pedestrian access gates and maintenance and repair / creation of hard standing access tracks was also carried out using small plant equipment.
